sabali

December 31, 2010

Nas & Damien Marley’s album, “Distant Relatives” was one of the best hip hop albums of 2010. This ‘Patience’ track was the leading light from the album, with Nas delivering an illmatic avatar verse (“anything along the land we consumin’, eatin’, deletin’ ruin”) over the haunting chorus of Sabali. The track samples a song by Amadou & Mariam, a blind couple from Mali who are world music cross over favourites and Afraica’s biggest selling music export. They recently released a remix album of some of their most well known songs. Check out this killer remix from Vitalic which adds a bit of kick to that infectious chorus. A perfect starter for nye. See y’all in 2011 oh na na x
